Muktinath is a revered pilgrimage site in Nepal's Mustang district, situated at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La pass. It holds significant religious importance for both Hindus, who call it Mukti Kshetra ("place of liberation"), and Buddhists, who know it as Chumig Gyatsa ("Hundred Waters"). The site features the Muktinath Temple, which houses a statue of Vishnu and 108 water spouts believed to cleanse sins and grant salvation, as well as several Buddhist monasteries. Muktinath attracts pilgrims seeking spiritual purification and forms a part of the popular Annapurna Circuit trekking route, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
